Themes

Choose between one or both of two themes.

(#1) The potential of AI and digital technologies in the area of WPS

AI and digital technologies are having a huge impact on war, peacebuilding, and humanitarian aid.

Technological development offers opportunities to improve safety and access of women and empower them for the participation in peace activities.

Furthermore, those new technologies can work as new instruments to communicate information and messages related to WPS

(#2) The future of women’s leadership in the field of peace and security, and the role of the youth

Women continue to be underrepresented in the negotiation of ceasefire and peace agreements. However, as women are actors who can prevent conflicts and build peace, full, equal, meaningful and safe participation fo women is pursued to achieve the sustaining peace.

In the area of peace activities, women from diverse generation are participating, and it is important to facilitate inter-generational support and sharing of the knowledge and experiences

Notably, it is necessary that we empower youth and expand their participation as they are the future leader of peace and security area.


Eligibility

All the youth around the world (19-34 years old)can enter the contest.

In case of team participants, 1 person must be designated as a team leader

The date used as the basis for determining age is the starting day of the

contest, August 18, 2025.

The MOFA ROK do not engage with the distribution of prize money among

team members or the results thereof.

The initial payment will be made to the team representative.

All forms of 2D design that is adoptable for printing

- Computer graphics, illustrations, photos, typography, drawings, etc.

The 7th AWP Youth Contest awards total amount of 6,000,000 Korean won and

the Minister of Foreign Affairs Award to the winners

The grand prize winner will be provided with the round-trip airfare (economy class) to Korea and accommodation (2 nights) to attend the awards ceremony, which is scheduled to be held in mid-November during the 7th International Conference on Action with Women and Peace.


NOTE

Participants must submit their works in accordance with the specifications and

application methods, and failure to do so may result in disqualification from the

contest.

Participants must exercise due diligence to ensure that their submitted works do not

infringe upon third parties' portrait rights, copyrights related to images, fonts, or other

intellectual property rights, or ownership rights. In the event of any issues related to

copyrights of the submitted works, the participant shall bear full civil

and criminal liability.

Entries that are: award-winning works from other competitions, works that

infringe on others' copyrights or use others' names without permission, orplagiarized

works will be excluded from selection as award-winning works.

Even after the award-winning works are decided, if such facts are revealed, the award

will be revoked, and the award proceeds will be recovered.

The content of the submitted work must not disparage the organizing institution,

the government of the Republic of Korea, specific countries, or the general public, and

must not contain inappropriate content.

(e.g., obscene expressions, illegal or discriminatory content)

Participants must review the contents of this contest guidelines and contest

announcements, and any damages resulting from failure to review the注意事項 (notes)

shall be borne by the participant.

 Copyright-related matters for submitted works

The copyright of winning works shall, in principle, belong to the creator.


❏ Guidelines for Utilizing AI

 This contest accepts AI-generated works, including those created using generative AI, or

works that utilize AI as entries

However, if the use of AI involves entering images owned by others into the prompt

to induce similar outputs, or directly mentioning specific works or authors in a way

that infringes on the copyrights of others, the entry will be excluded from judging and

awards.

 When using AI, the prompt entered must be submitted along with the contest

participant’s concept, and it will be referenced during the judging process.

 Simply submitting AI-generated outputs resulting from prompt input may be

penalized based on evaluation criteria such as creativity.

Even when using AI, participants are encouraged to make additional modifications,

such as editing, adding, or rearranging the output, to demonstrate their creative

contribution.

 For specific guidelines related to AI usage, we recommend referring to the Korean

Copyright Commission’s “Guidelines for Creative Work Competitions,”“Generative AI

Copyright Guide,” and “Guide to Preventing Copyright Disputes Caused by Generative

AI Outputs.”
